How to grow a little GREENHOUSE

In the past seven years, we have already built eight little greenhouses. From permanent structures to pop-up exhibitions and everything in between, each of them has its own character, function and purpose.

We developed this little greenhouse crafting program in 2022 with a variety of materials from the local nursery, crafting store, and IKEA. Kids aged 6-10 years old can explore their creativities.  

Step 1: Assemble the greenhouse structure together. 

A greenhouse’s structure is the most typical and the purest form of architectural structure. During this assembling, kids will learn about how to create a building with components, such as Frame, Edge Beam, Ridge, Curtain Wall...etc.


Step 2: Place a potted plant.

This gives the meaning and function to the space. Now, it's officially a greenhouse!

Step 3: The most essential part - bring the space to life. 

An architectural space needs to interact with human life to become alive. Hence, kids will create and draw their stories, then decorate their greenhouses and place the stories inside. This step makes the space unique with its own characteristic.
